Jamie McMillan is the island educator at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Three Mile Island Camp for the summer of 2008. Each summer, the island educator provides educational programs for campers on topics relevant to life on the island. This year, Jamie will also be working on developing a Sustainability Plan for Three Mile Island Camp as part of his island educator duties. Work on the Sustainability Plan is being coordinated with the Center for the Environment at Plymouth State University (PSU) where Jamie is a senior.
Jamie is majoring in environmental planning at PSU and he serves as the president of the university’s Outing Club. Originally from Acworth, he has previously worked for the National Park Service in Colorado and Alaska, and also for the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.

Opening weekend, with enthusiastic volunteers braving the heat wave to replace the shingles on Rock Ledge 1 and 3, is behind us, Croo Week is already a few days old as I write this, and Week 1 will start in a few days. I just received my copy of the summer newsletter in the mail (available here in PDF format). An important item mentioned there is that the island will no longer have an epi-pen on hand for the use of campers, because of a change in New Hampshire law. If you need one, make sure to bring it with you, and tell us about it.

This year's joke was on our home page for about two weeks. If you missed it, we saved it here. Thanks to Don Perley for supplying this year's prank.
