Be a part of Summer Island Education Program: Donate Needed Items

The Summer Island Education Program facilitated by Island Educator Kai Bicknell will soon be in full swing. The program is in need of items to promote awareness and action around TMI's natural beauty and value:

  • Butterfly nets
  • Microscopes
  • Telescopes
  • Strainers for water sampling and investigation
  • Binoculars
  • Fishing Equipment
  • Kites
  • Masks, snorkels, swim goggles
  • ID Books (ie; Peterson, Golden Books) for identifying plants, creatures and other natural phenomena

Next Committee Chair Announced

Current TMI Committee Chair Rick Tjader has announced his successor. According to Chair Tjader, "I am very pleased to announce that Nancy Grant has accepted the position of Committee Chair, AMC Three Mile Island Camp."

Nancy is a long time member of the Three Mile community.  She has served as both a committee member and camp manager.  Nancy brings both on-the-ground operational experience as well as long-term vision to the role.  Long associated with The Mountain School and the Appalachian Mountain Club, Nancy enthusiastically embraces the Club's education and conservation goals.
